MyBreedPick.com is a participant in affiliate marketing programs. This page explains what that means for you as a reader.
What affiliate marketing means
An affiliate link is a link to an external retailer that contains a tracking code identifying us as the referrer. If you click an affiliate link on MyBreedPick and make a purchase on the destination site, we may earn a small commission — typically a single-digit percentage of the sale — at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or navigate to the retailer directly.
Programs we participate in
Amazon Associates
MyBreedPick.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
“Amazon”, “Amazon.com”, and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Other affiliate programs
We may participate in additional affiliate programs from time to time. When we do, the same rules apply: we only recommend products we’d recommend regardless of affiliate relationship, and we disclose the relationship clearly.
How affiliate relationships affect our content
Affiliate revenue does not influence our editorial judgment. Specifically:
- We do not accept payment in exchange for inclusion in a guide
- We do not accept payment for higher rankings or favorable reviews
- We do not modify our recommendations based on commission rates
- We do not include products we wouldn’t recommend just because they have affiliate programs
- We do exclude products that don’t meet our standards, regardless of affiliate availability
Our gear guides are based on research, evaluation, and editorial judgment about what is genuinely useful for the reader and the breed in question. The affiliate links are how we make a small return on the work — they are not the reason for the recommendation.
Identifying affiliate links on the Site
Articles containing affiliate links display a disclosure notice at the top. Individual product recommendations are generally followed by an affiliate link to the retailer. If you’d like to verify whether a specific link is an affiliate link, you can hover over it to view the destination URL — affiliate URLs typically contain a tracking parameter such as tag=.
Compliance with FTC guidelines
Our disclosure practices follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. We disclose material connections clearly and conspicuously.
Your support
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, you’re directly supporting MyBreedPick’s research and editorial work. Thank you. We don’t take that lightly.
